Cookie Notice

1. What we set

Nothing, unless you sign in. lozenge.ai serves static pages. It sets no first party cookies, no third party cookies, no local storage, no session storage, and no device fingerprint. There are no advertising pixels, no social embeds, and no A/B testing scripts.

We count page views. We use Vercel Web Analytics to see which pages are read and where readers came from. Its script is served from this domain and reports back to this domain. It sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser. Each view records the page, the referring site, your country, and your browser and operating system. Vercel tells one visit from another only by a hash of the request, which it discards after a day, so we see totals and never a person, and nothing connects today’s visit to tomorrow’s.

We count page views on our own server. When this site serves a page, it adds one to that day’s count for the page. If another site linked you here, it adds one to that site’s name (the name only, never the address of the page you came from), and if the link carried a campaign name (utm_source), one to that. A click on Download adds one to the day’s download count, and one to a count for the page the button was on. That is all it records: not your IP address, not your browser, no cookie, and nothing that tells one visit from another, so the counts are of views, never of people. Software that says it is a bot is not counted. The counts are kept for three days, and after that only as each day’s totals. No script runs in your browser for this.

Including the prompter. The prompter at lozenge.ai/prompt keeps a script in the page’s memory and nowhere else. It sets no cookie and writes nothing to local storage, session storage, or anywhere else in your browser.

This is why you have not been asked to accept anything. Consent banners exist because sites track people. We do not, so there is nothing to ask.

Including how we pay the people who recommend us. A referral link carries a short code in the address of the page it lands on, our links carry it on to the pricing page, and it passes to Stripe with the purchase, and that is the whole mechanism. No cookie is set, nothing is stored here, and nothing follows you between visits. It costs us something real: somebody who follows a link, thinks it over for a week and comes back on their own cannot be credited to whoever sent them. We would rather lose that than ask you to accept a banner.

The one exception is signing in. If you bought a plan and choose to sign in at lozenge.ai/account, we set two strictly necessary first party cookies, and only then. __Host-lz_login holds the address you typed while you enter the emailed code, and ends after ten minutes. __Host-lz_session keeps you signed in, and ends 30 days after you sign in, or when you sign out. Both are HttpOnly, sent only to this site over HTTPS, and do nothing else. Nobody who does not ask for a sign-in code ever gets one.

Buying a plan takes you to Stripe’s checkout page on checkout.stripe.com. That page is Stripe’s, not ours, and the cookies it sets are covered by Stripe’s own cookie policy. This site sets none on the way there or back.

2. What our host sees

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. Serving a page necessarily involves a request, and Vercel keeps standard server logs of those requests: IP address, user agent, the path requested, and a timestamp. Vercel uses them to deliver the site and to defend it against abuse. We do not use those logs for analytics, we do not export them, and we do not join them to anything that would identify you.

Vercel may set a strictly necessary cookie in the course of protecting the site against automated abuse. Such a cookie carries no advertising or profiling function and is exempt from consent requirements under the ePrivacy Directive and the GDPR, which is the only reason we can run this site without a banner in good conscience.

3. Fonts and assets

Typefaces are self hosted and served from this domain. Images, icons, and styles are served from this domain. Loading a page here does not make a request to a font CDN, an analytics endpoint, or an ad network. The page view count in section 1 goes to this domain, not to another one. The server's own count in section 1 makes no request from your browser at all.

4. The application

The Lozenge macOS application is not a web browser and does not use cookies. Its preferences are stored in macOS UserDefaults and its credentials in the Keychain, both on your own machine. See the privacy policy for the detail.

5. If this changes

If we ever set a cookie beyond the two above, we will update this page first, describe exactly what it does and how long it lasts, and ask for consent where consent is required. We do not intend to add advertising or third party tracking to this site, and we will say so here if that ever ceases to be our intention.

6. Controlling cookies anyway

Every major browser lets you block and delete cookies for any site, and blocking them will not break anything here. Look under Privacy in your browser settings.
