Acceptable Use Policy

Lozenge is a tool for the person in the conversation. This page says what that means in practice, and names the uses we consider out of bounds. It forms part of the terms of service.

1. What Lozenge is for

Preparing for a conversation you have to perform, and keeping your own words and your own notes in front of you while you have it. A demo. A screening call. A review. A 1:1. A briefing. You are a participant, and the notes are yours.

2. What it is not for

Do not use Lozenge to:

  • Watch someone else work. It is not a supervision, productivity scoring, or employee monitoring tool, and building one on top of it is out of bounds.
  • Record a conversation you are not part of, or leave it running in a room you have left.
  • Record or transcribe without the consent the law requires. Some jurisdictions require every party to agree. Find out which one you are in.
  • Capture a conversation someone has a reasonable expectation of privacy in, including a medical, legal, or therapeutic one, without their clear agreement.
  • Discriminate. Do not use transcripts, speaker labels, or model output to make or justify a hiring, promotion, or termination decision on a protected characteristic, or in a way that violates employment or hiring law.
  • Impersonate. Do not present model generated text as testimony, an official statement, or someone else’s words.
  • Harass, threaten, or defraud anyone, or break any law that applies to you.

3. Notes on the notetaking

Transcription makes mistakes. Speaker labels make mistakes. Model generated summaries and suggested replies make confident, plausible mistakes, and they are drafts, not records. Do not treat any of it as an authoritative account of what someone said, and do not put it in front of a decision without reading it first.

If you record a conversation, tell the people in it. Out loud, at the start. This is the single practice that keeps a notetaking tool in good standing with the people it touches.

4. Enforcement

Lozenge runs on your machine, so we cannot see what you do with it and we do not try to. We have no telemetry and no kill switch. This policy is therefore a statement of the licence you hold rather than something we police: using Lozenge in the ways listed above breaches the terms of service, ends your licence, and leaves the legal consequences with you.

5. Reporting

If you believe Lozenge is being used against you, write to legal@lozenge.ai. We cannot reach into someone else’s computer, but we will listen, and abuse we hear about shapes what we build next.
